Why We Exist
The Heart Behind Rally
A modern era family crest
Many hearts. One voice.
In our collective journey as both designers and marketers, the concept of branding has always resonated with us, not just for products or companies, but for something much closer to home: our families.
The idea might seem unconventional at first—branding a family?
But you don’t have to go too far back to see a time-honored tradition that speaks volumes about the power of a united family identity.
A modern era family crest
Pride and Rectitude.
We believe the big brands know what they’re doing. Their manifestos publicly declare their purpose. Their values guide their path. Their aesthetics both identify and differentiate—but more importantly, establish a sense of pride and rectitude.
We believe it’s time that families borrow a page from the same playbook — and that’s why we exist.
By creating personalized family crests, manifestos, and core values, we empower families to unite under a shared vision, strengthen their bonds, and cultivate a sense of pride in their heritage. Just as brands inspire and lead, so too can families, guided by a deeply rooted sense of who they are and what they stand for.
Still unsure?
We wrote the book on family branding.

Our Manifesto
At Rally, we believe families were designed for a purpose. They are the foundational units that shape individuals and build communities, embodying love, support, and shared growth.
We believe unity strengthens bonds. When families stand together, they create an unbreakable force that nurtures resilience, fosters trust, and encourages each member to thrive.
We believe shared values create identity. These values serve as the compass that guides families through life’s journey, providing a sense of belonging and a collective mission that defines who they are.
We believe clear writing is a sign of clear thinking. Articulating thoughts with precision and clarity reflects a deep understanding and intentionality, paving the way for meaningful communication and connection.
We believe clear thinking builds courage and conviction. When thoughts are well-formed and intentions are clear, families can face challenges with confidence and stand firm in their beliefs, ready to overcome any obstacle.
At Rally, we are committed to helping families discover and express their unique identities, fostering unity and purpose through shared values and clear, courageous thinking.
Our Core Values
-
"Lead from the Front" embodies the principle of setting a positive example through actions rather than words. It means taking initiative, demonstrating integrity, and being the first to step up in challenging situations. By leading from the front, we inspire others to follow with confidence and commitment, fostering a culture of proactive leadership and accountability.
-
"Clarity and Conviction" emphasizes the importance of being clear in our communication and steadfast in our beliefs. It signifies the courage to articulate our goals and values with precision, ensuring that our intentions are understood. With conviction, we stand firm in our decisions, guided by our principles, and navigate challenges with unwavering determination.
-
"Design over Default" champions intentionality in all our endeavors. Instead of accepting the status quo or following the path of least resistance, we choose to thoughtfully design our lives, relationships, and pursuits. This value encourages creativity, innovation, and a purposeful approach to everything we do, ensuring that our actions reflect our deepest values and aspirations.
-
"Everything on Purpose" reflects our commitment to living with intention and mindfulness. It means that every action, decision, and interaction is carried out with a clear sense of purpose. By prioritizing deliberate choices over passive existence, we cultivate a life that is meaningful, impactful, and aligned with our true selves.
The Team Behind Rally
Purpose, mission, and vision
Meet the Founders.
Rally began as an ambitious vision shared between two friends, Josh Stewart and Lain McCanless.
What started as a wild idea over coffee quickly transformed into a passionate mission. With backgrounds in branding and marketing, and deep personal commitments as husbands and fathers, Josh and Lain envisioned a revolutionary approach to family dynamics.
The goal? To empower families to define and celebrate their unique identities, fostering a sense of unity and pride that transcends generations.
Rally's process combines the art of branding with the heart of family traditions, offering a unique blend of creativity and purpose.
Josh Stewart
Co-Founder / Creative Director
Josh has a restless compulsion to be the best version of himself. He runs marathons, he reads books, he starts companies, he can hold his breath for 4 minutes, and he once did 100,000 push-ups in a year. You know, typical dad stuff. He’d be the first to tell you this approach is extreme, but it’s just the way he’s wired. Whether he's perfecting his pancake flip or squeezing in a workout before the kids wake up, Josh brings the same energy to his family life as he does to his professional pursuits.
His life experience includes a brief college basketball stint, an MTV reality show, a record deal with Warner Bros, a (New Year’s Eve) Times Square performance, a $20 million blanket company, and an ever-growing real estate portfolio. Despite this impressive resume, Josh’s proudest achievements are those shared with his family, where his relentless drive and creativity are always on full display.

Lain McCanless
Co-Founder / Teaching Director
Lain has the uncanny ability to get along with a 9-month-old and 90-year-old.
He’s young and spry with an old soul at heart.
He writes, he reads, he dreams. He’s a speaker and communicator to young husbands and fathers. His life experiences include a quick stint on NBC’s The Voice, getting kicked out of college during his final year on accident, launching a marketing agency, working for a multi-million dollar fashion company, but more importantly marrying the sweetest girl in the world, Aspyn Lee and being a dad to Shepherd Thomas.
